Magnus Wallberg
This is my professional page focussing primarily on my professional life working for the Uppsala Monitoring Centre. The page serves the purpose of being a place holder for my thoughts and experiences related to my work. All content published here is related to me, my opinions and experiences - not necessarilythe official view point of my employer.
As a background in Engineering Physics and Systems Development I bring the technology aspects to the world of Pharmacovigilance (basically the art of monitoring safety of medicinal products after they have been launched on the market).
I am devoted to data openness, re-use and linkage of disparate data sources, making the sum greater than the individual parts alone.
SOME CURRENT INITIATIVES
Linking Global Safety Data
Linking Global Safety data to commonly used linked data sources require a common identifier for the substance of interest. Free text matching is normally not possible and can lead to false and misleading results.
Extend the reach of E2B
Extending the international E2B format for reporting of Adverse Drug Reactions (ADRs) to include also reporting from health care professional and patients with more light weight reporting systems will hopefully increase and speed up the reporting of vital post marketing safety information.
